HoloKote is an anti-copying watermark printed across the entire card surface. When the card is tilted, the HoloKote watermark provides visual authentication. There is no additional cost involved in printing HoloKote cards.

How HoloKote is printed onto the card.

Color cards are printed using a thermal transfer YMCKO dye film. After the color image has been printed onto the card, the clear Overcoat panel is applied to protect the image from fading or scratching. Magicard’s thermal transfer printer models have a unique facility called HoloKote for frosting a security watermark into the clear overcoat during the print process. This is a patented feature and unlike most other security logos, it involves no extra cost of printing.

Available on all Magicard printers (except the Prima), the built-in HoloKote watermark is a user option  controlled by driver settings. Custom HoloKote watermark are ordered separately.

Completely unique to Magicard, HoloPatch cards have a highly reflective gold ‘super diffuser’ seal.

How do HoloKote and HoloPatch work together as a visible security feature?

The unique HoloKote feature is daylight visible by tilting the card to view the watermark pattern.

When used with the optional Magicard HoloPatch card stock, one of the HoloKote logos is highlighted by a highly reflective gold 'super-diffuser' patch, making the logo clearly visible under all lighting conditions. HoloKote with HoloPatch has a similar appearance to credit card hologram seals. It provides a distance visible security mark allowing a security guard or colleague to easily verify badge authenticity from a distance of six feet or more. It’s the ultimate in card security simplicity.

With the built-in Ethernet capability on Magicard printers, users obtain greatly enhanced operational efficiency, especially for large facilities with multiple ID card printers such as universities, events organisations, retail and other public venues.

Having multiple printers on the network allows printing to continue while a ribbon is being replaced on one printer. This duplication increases overall system reliability; since any PC can print to any card printer on the network, there can be immediate rollover to working machines in case of technical issues with a PC workstation or a printer.

Card printing flexibility is also substantially increased by network connectivity. For example, a PC workstation creating identification cards can now be located in a different room or in a different building from the card printer. Or, a card printer can be located near high-volume workstations yet be shared by users who only occasionally print cards and who are located in other areas.

Retransfer printing technology offers the best edge to edge printing quality because of the method of applying the image onto the card thanks to a ‘soft roller’ that wraps the image around the edges of the card.

With direct printing onto the card, the quality of edge to edge printing  depends on the quality of the card. The cards used need to be flat and have clean edges.

Bande magnétique

Dans la série professionnelle de Magicard, une station à contact de codage à carte intelligente interne ISO7816 en option peut être spécifiée de façon autonome ou en combinaison avec une option de codage à bande magnétique.

Codage sans contact
Différentes options de codage à carte intelligente sans contact comme Mifare, Desfire, iClass et Legic sont également disponibles dans les
imprimantes de série professionnelle.

Les cartes réinscriptibles ont une face brillante en PVC pour l'impression couleur/monochrome, et une face mat réinscriptible faite de matériau thermochromique bleu ou noir. Cette surface mat permet d'imprimer jusqu'à 500 cycles de réécriture.

Le HoloKote personnalisé est un filigrane de sécurité HoloKote personnalisé imprimé dans un modèle de grille sur toute la carte. Comparé aux films plastique holographiques personnalisés, c'est une simple partie du coût et disposnible en jours, non en mois. Pour un coût modeste d'installation et aucun frais supplémentaire en consommables, vous pouvez imprimer autant de cartes que vous voulez avec votre dessin HoloKote personnalisé. Imprimé avec votre imprimante Magicard Rio 2e, Tango 2e ou Rio Pro, l'HoloKote personnalisé est livré dans une boîte contenant un CD et une carte RFID. Téléchargez simplement votre graphique personnalisé sur le logiciel de votre imprimante (à partir du CD). Introduisez ensuite votre carte RFID unique (également fournie) dans un port de l'imprimante et elle fonctionne comme une clé pour activer le logo/graphique sécurisé à imprimer.
